How loud?
I've done a few searches but can't find what i'm after
Does anyone know how loud a decatted invidia is with bungs in as I have got an exhaust very similar and i'm booked in at oulton this saturday and I don't want to be turned away.
I've read the limit is 105db's, am I going to have to put the standard exhaust back on?
Thanks
Rick

A decatted invidia with no bungs is 103 at 4500rpm then?
I should be fine going off that then with the bungs in, my mate has a db meter so i'm going to try and get over and give it a quick test just to be sure before I get there.

right then, I managed to get hold of a db meter at work today so tested my exhaust
it's supposed to be accurate and we calibrated it first so these readings should be pretty spot on
all readings are taken about 1.5 meters from the back of the car inline with the centre of both tips
without bungs results
coldish idle about 1500 rpm - 90db
5000-5500rpm once warm - 112ishdb
with bungs results
coldish idle again - 80db
5000-5500rpm - 105db (right on the limit or what
)
I also let off quickly at about 5000rpm on one try and the exhaust popped - 118db with the bungs in
Anyway the main thing does anyone know if they test s2000's above 5500rpm? if they do I'm going to be over? how leniant are they? if i'm over by 1 or 2 are they gong to tell me to go home?
Thanks

I did a trackday at Oulton in Aug, and I too was worried if I might get pulled for noise with my HKS.
They test you in the padock just as you're about to go on track for the first time. Not sure what the limit was on the day I went but I think it was their normal limit, so 105dB as you say.
They wanted to test at 3/4 max revs e.g. 6750
. I reved to 6.5 and held it at 6k and they said it was fine.
I felt they weren't very strict cause there was some pretty mental stuff out on the track at the same time.
Not really sure what to say, other than keep your fingers crossed, and keep the revs as low as possible. Also put the lights on so they might not be able to see the revometer
