Default How loud is your S2000

I have a decibelometer App on my phone, at a steady 70mph on the motorway it reads exactly 62db, I think that's not too bad really. My car is a standard MY99 (other than a bit of heath robinson soundproofing in the boot)
So how loud is your S ??
I know db is not linear ie 65db is twice as loud as 62db (or something like that) but in theory the later the car the quieter it should be eh ?

Most of that is tyre noise so will be dependant on what road you're on?

Try it on the concrete bits of the m25 it'll be 100db

Minor thread hijack, but does anyone know how many db's these chuck out with the "uk exhaust mod" under static trackside conditions - typically 2/3 revs, 1/2m from the exhaust??

Thank you please

I have the Skunk2 fitted and now with de-cat.
Prior to de-cat and with Hard Top on, I had the following.

Cold Start idle, 1m behind car - 86db
Motorway at max boom affect (4.6K RPM) - 94db
Motorway at min boom affect (4.5K RPM) - 88db
Motorway at max rpm (9K RPM) - 92db
[Motorway was standard good surface]

App used - "Decibels" on an iPhone 5S.
I also used 2 other apps and got very similar figures.
Iv not re-checked with de-cat or hard top removed, but might get some updated figures.

To be fair, I tried it on the A50 by Derby, and there is a concrete bit and it stayed on 62db, at 80 it went to flickering between 62/63, as i say that is bog standard and with hardtop on.

Big difference between types of tyres too.

Where is the phone when you're doing this testing? Inside the car?

Surely wind noise/road noise will play a part?
