Default How to replace ABS sensor

Has anybody taken off the ABS sensor to replace it?
I have ordered one from a breakers yard for the rear and trying to find info on how to replace it myself.
Previously while cleaning my ABS sensors i noticed that even when you unscrew the 10mm bolt on the sensor itself it doesnt come off.
Also where in the boot can i find the connection for the ABS sensor??
ie will i have to move many panels of carpet etc in the boot?

would appreciate the help!

Should pull off once the mount bolt is fully removed, there is nothing else...

Drawings show the connector is in the boot, around the spare wheel area or opposite.
Passes through a rubber grommet in boot floor on the O/S/R its beside the spare - outboard.

Set gap between sensor and rotor to 0.4 - 1.0mm

They stick in and get very brittle. If it's failed then screwdriver and hammer to chip it out. If its still good then be very careful and use lots of penetrating oil.

Hey gerk,
Do you know its the sensor that has failed and not just a lot of corrosion on the teeth or misadjustment etc?

Ok mate, good luck.
As Matt says, if its dead its dead, attack the sucker!
Check gap on refit though, whilst spinning the wheel.
Make sure gap is regular, I have bent a hub before and you might not even feel it.

connector is in the boot take the spare wheel out to have a look at the driver side first, you also need to remove 2 x 10mm bolts from the upper suspension arm and 1 from the body that hold the wire

how much did you pay for it btw? as i need one too

Been a good day today. I got the sensor on and more importantly it works!
oh and to ste nova, i got it from a jap breakers yard in Co Galway for €45 delivered. Considering main dealer wanted €240 for one and you could take a guess as to how mch they would charge to fit it, im very happy!
Fitted a pair of clear side repeaters aswell and gave it a polish so its looking well!
