Default Hub assembly

I think I need a new rear hub (or hubs really, I like to do things in pairs). I've had the hub-nut click issue. I greased the drive shaft splines and replaced the hub nuts (at the higher torque setting) quite a while ago now. It sort of 80-90% cured it, but with the occasional click. However, many moons later, I think it's clicking a bit more, and I'm getting hints of maybe wheel bearing noise as well, bit of an occasional rumble.

So yea, having seen somewhere on this site some info on how the hubs wear, and probably need even more torque than Honda specify on the hub nuts, I think I need new hubs, wheel bearings and hub nuts for the rear.

That sounds logical right? I've had a look online, and the best prices I've found for the hub (OEM) in the UK are around £192 (not sure how much the bearings are as well). However, if I go to a USA site, I can get hub and bearing (OEM), for $173 dollars/£112. Unfortunately they didn't do international shipping. Why do we pay through the nose over here? Anyway, does anyone know a good place to get the OEM part for cheap? Perhaps a US site that will ship to the UK? Alternatively, are there any non-OEM parts that I could buy over here that are up to scratch? I've seen this on ebay for example: link. I'd be worried it's not up to OEM standard, anyone else bought this?

Also, does anyone know what I should expect to pay for fitting? Are there any other bits I'd need apart from the hub assembly and bearing?

Sounds extreme to me.

If its the hub nuts then I would re-torque them. I've over torqued mine to 'fecking tight' . It's worked fine over the last seven years of ownership. If they need re-newing then renew them.

If it's the wheel bearings then I'd change them aswell.

But the hubs themselves? If it ain't broke don't fix it IMO.

For parts use either Hendy for UK or CFL Honda for US.

I cant see why you would need new hubs.If anything just replace the bearings, with some bearing kits you get a new hub nut aswell. You will need a press to press out the old and press in the new bearings but apart from that its no a difficult job to do yourself.

Mine were clicking a couple of years ago, need new hubs, carriers and bearings on both axles to guarantee the cure. They tried new hub nuts, re-torquing and re-greasing to higher loads but it made no difference. They (Honda) quoted me around £1500.00 for the job, however the service manager got onto Honda UK and because my car had low mileage, FHSH and was a good one Honda Uk paid 50% of the parts and some of the labour, ended up costing me just over £500.00

Sounds like the usually dealer blah, blah.

We'll change the lot because we can find the fault.

Glad it got sorted through

Yeh I agree, but they could have just replaced the bearings in each hub and that would have probably cost me £500.00 at Honda labour and part prices so to be honest I got new hubs, bearings and assemblies for the same price so I was happy with that, although I would have been happier if I didn't have to spend anything at all.

edit, they broke an ABS sensor too so replaced that for free.

Here's the thing I was looking at:

https://www.s2ki.com/home/2012/09/21...ow-to-and-why/

Mines done 85k miles, so was thinking mines probably worn.

I get a 404 message if I go to cfl Honda
