I don't believe it!
Well, all ready to collect my S from Chiswick last night before work so phoned, just before leaving work, to find out that the transporter had broken down in Kent somewhere
Anyhow, after much toing and frowing (sp?), I spoke to the sales manager who said that he and a colleague would drive down today to pick up the car, drive it back to Chiswick and then prep it for me to pick up today. Only downside is this means 80 odd miles on the clock when I collect it but not too fussed about that as it means I'll get to the run in period slightly quicker
.
Therefore, assuming all goes well, I should be picking it up about 6.30 tonight!!! Can't wait!! Got a trip to Manchester this weekend so that will get the miles up to vtecability soon!!
Will try and post some photos before the weekend although I may not get back in front of a PC for a while!!
Paul.

do you really believe that the transporter broke down?? Doubt it, its cheaper for the dealer to drive it to you than transport it.
I've never bought a brand new car myself (have a bit of a "thing" against doing it) but if I were going to, I'd want to make sure I was the only person to have driven it.
As Dracoro said - how are you going to know that the person who drove it those 80 miles back didn't rag it at all? 80 miles is a fair distance for someone to drive in a car that doesn't belong to them. If it came to it I'd rather get down somehow and drive those 80 miles myself.

Met a guy last weekend who was dropping off an S to a customer and telling me he was doing 9000 rpm in 5th on the M40 before he realised there was a sixth gear! I wouldn't let any one else drive it for you but it might be too late now.

You are right Go Nads. I should have kept that story to myself. Somehow reading the post made me remember this idiot and the story was typed by me. I do know Chiswick and they were careful with my car so hopefully all will be well.
