Default Import??

I'm looking at buy a 1999/00 S2000.

Is there an easy way of telling if an S2000 is a import. Also I was told by a Honda dealer that the imported models are harder to get parts for and the BHP was not 240 but about 215 is that true?

And finally does anyone have any tips for buying a used S2000, what should I be on the lok out for?

Mat

Dan, it was Asif who had problems recently, IIRC he had taken out the policy in the very early days of Tesco and his policy was registered as an ITR!!..... some odd circumstances with the theft as well that might have slowed things down for him.

Mat,

there are 2 black ones for sale as far as I can see, arsie and Phiroze are selling them for about

I wouldnt rule out a EU import, as Tif says, mechanically they are identical to UK cars and you will probably pick one up a bit cheaper. Dealers are just trying to scare you with that talk of parts and power. My EU import has been reguarly serviced at a Honda dealership and they have never struggled to get parts for the car.

215 BHP for EU Imports is pure bull shit, dealers are just trying to protect their own profit margins, no harm in that but they shouldnt blatantly lie as they have in this instance .

I spoke to my local honda dealer and they are willing to sell me a factory warranty with AA cover for

Can you provide me with the dealership where you asked?

I want to phone them and ask about import and UK models (discreetly) and what differences there are. If they give me the same BS as you say then I will take this further.

215bhp, yeah right...

Often.
