Default Import duties

Evening all

Looking at getting an exhaust from the states, due to the horrific price difference between USA and UK!!!

Now I was wondering if anyone has done this and can give us a rough idea on costs? what I am likely to expect etc?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

regards

Tom

I've just brought stuff in from the US - ask them to mark the value of it as $100 or state that it's a warranty return or some thing along those lines so you get hit with minimal customs, duty, etc.

To give you an idea of cost I've just had goods brought in marked down as worth $350 and got hit with £69 customs/fees/duty/vat/rip off tax or whatever you want to call it

Cost of part x 1.04 for duty
(Cost of part + Duty) x 1.2 for VAT.

I got my Invidia from the states. Think I got an extra bill for around £50 ish. Got mine from LSD Motorsport and they pretty much told me how much to expect to pay for the import duty.

Chad.

What a rip off state we live in...

May just get it posted to a friend in the US for them to post it as a "gift"

Failing that, Chad's price didn't sound too bad

Be careful, I had something sent over valued at $2500 and I ended up with my pants down and paid around£750..... That's pounds not dollars.

Greedy greedy bastads, somebody has got to pay for the 12bn the games are costing us.
