Haven't Alpine been going to produce the remote interface for a while now - or have I got up too early?

Bob,

Many congrat's on your new stook!

Just 1 point worth looking at - check out the level of corrosion protectionon the car (cars built for the Jap. market have a much lower level than UK spec'd cars. As for Dubai - I dont know for sure, but I would guess salt is rarely spread on the roads out there, so again, little need for extensive rust protection). There are a number of reputable UK companies who specialise in protecting cars brought in from Japan - I have a friend with a Mit. FTO. There owners club have a number of 'tame' specialists on their books - let me know if you need details.

Enjoy the car

All the best

Ian

On the subject of the Alpine interface (to keep dash audio control functionality with an Alpine head unit). It exists (allegedly!) and the part No.is KCE-865B.

However I have gone out and spent

Oh boy,

I'm afraid you're going to hate this. But 99.9% chance this is
a stolen S2000. Tonight on BBC1 there was a program 'The
biggest car fraud in the world` which reported
about the Dubai connection. I feel very sorry for you, it could
mean you loose the car. Most cars were Landcruisers, but
there was also an NSX owner who had the good luck of
finding the original Japanese owner and he bought the title
of the car. I found it strange, since normally the insurance
company gets the title.

Hmmm,

OK this may be dumb but I had better ask.

I am importing from a dealer in Denmark who I assume will be requesting it built from Japan and shipped to them before on to Dover for collection. Anything sound dodgy or is this normal?....gotta be sure ya see!

Often.

Well the program mainly discussed righthand driven cars.
Although they said that the British an Irish market was supposed
to be saturated with these cars (a figure spoke about a

I didn't see the program but this is a Big discussion on Scooby board

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/Forum1/HTML/015096.html

turns out the shot of the Skyline engine was an Impreza.

I would assume that as Honda (UK) were PDI'ing and confirming warranty then the car was OK...

OK, Just been on the phone to alliance car imports (anyone used em?). They say all ordering is done through official Honda dealerships in Europe and the cars are built to order. I will expect that before I get the car someone along the line will triple check the car is "off production line" material.

Often.

Often,

if its brand new you should recieve a certificate of conformity from Honda in Holland, also ask to see the original dealer purchase order and receipts.

If its ordered through a Honda dealer in Holland you shouldn't have any problems at all. Personally I would go direct to the dealer rather than rely on an intermediate who is only going to get some comission for doing very little.

I did it all myself and believe me its easy if you get a good dealer.

Good Luck

Jason
