Is it impossible to connect an MP3 player?

He's right though, Wads. Even a technical halfwit like me could do it, if I absolutely had to. There is a step-by-step idiot's guide in Lucid's site.
The only bit that puts me off is running a line from the HU to the battery, which I gather Alpine HUs require - I understand the theory but don't really trust myself with anything where current is involved!

This is why I said 15 minutes - 5 minutes to install the head unit and 10 minutes to attach an extra foot of wire using a heat shrink bullet connector and a female spade connector and plug it in to the fuse box
