Nten,

No it will very rarely throw a code, because if thinks its ok. Im not sure what voltage the ECU would look for to determine it was faulty.

Cleaning the contacts wont do a thing. And I am very suspicious about the map tie. Ive seen other cars have problems with a similar sensor (MAF based) and they have made half hearted attempts to fix it.

In this case I think Honda have monitored the MAP voltages when its playing up (as I have done too!) and seen iffy voltages. I think they then may or may not have realised it was the sensor at fault, and realised they have an inherent problem with it, or its positioning. The solution of the plastic tie is a half ass attempt IMO. I dont think there is anything wrong with the connector or any vibration issue.

Mines a pain in the arse at the moment - My 2001 car had the kangaroos when it was a properly hot day (mostly when the roof was off and I was passing a bus stop of fit women!), but the 2005 doesn't seem to care if the temperature is single figures outside or not - more than a minute in crawling traffic and it starts to hesitate. Think I'll throw it in the dealers next week.

Ha ha! No, just been a lazy git and moaned a lot!

It's going in for a new centre console storage box (the spring came off so it doesn't slide back at the touch of a button any more. They couldn't get it to stay back on, so have decided to change the whole storage compartment under warranty at a cost of

This was a fix for '04 onwards.

What year is your car - stick the details in your profile in "MyS2K"

You can just pull the connector a few times and use a ty-wrap of your own to get the same effect. That presumes the existing one is OK!

Think he may have left us - this post was started in November 2005 and his last post was over a year ago. Probably sold up or something.
