Default Install of iPOD controller

Have owned my S2000 for nearly 7 years now and finally got around to installing a control box to integrate my iPoD - or at least I am trying!
I ordered a Level 3 Audio Controller from Integration Solutions in the US to fit an S2000 up to the year 2003. This allows basic control of the iPoD from the front panel and also charges the device. It uses the CD changer connector on the head end.
It arrived with a cable to connect the controller to the 14-pin CD Changer socket on the back of the radio - trouble is, the connector is a blue type, similar to the one on the main audio loom and not at all compatible with the 14-pin white female connector on the rear of the radio. It would appear that in the US, this white connector was not adopted until 2004 whereas it was used on earlier models in the UK.
The vendor also notes this but has offered no solution.
I am hoping that it is simply a matter of finding the right male connector for my CD Changer socket and replacing the blue one on the loom they sent me. Problem is, despite trawling the internet, I cannot find anywhere to get the correct connector, and then, I cannot find the pin-outs of the two types of radio in order to correctly wire up the loom.
Anyone know of answers to these problems?? If so, your help would be appreciated.

Actually, I do the vendor a dis-service. They did send me a web link to purchase a complete system (!) for a later model car with the apparently correct connector.

m1bjr, thanks for your reply - are you still able to use the remote controls with the Alpine unit?

As above, not without an interface. Which incidently is better than the oem as it adds some functionality.

I understand this will cost more but at least it works pretty well.
Steve.
