INSURANCE
Also notice the lower premiums are usually accompanied by higher excesses.
Kick the excess up and see what results you get, I'd recommend any young driver (Rick Redun and the group were discussing this on Monday night) should through it around 2 to 3k, let's face it if you are going to make a claim for anything below 2 to 3k your policy is going to go through the roof, so take it on the chin and keep your no claims discount.
The Female driver will certainly make a difference.

Definitely give A-Plan a call, and try the insurers in this thread:

Careful - they're clamping down on this.
Also some people (Direct Line off the top of my head) let named drivers earn their own no claims....

Not so much of a problem for as I'm an old gipper in me 30s anyway, but when I was in my teens this was the standard way most boys that age got to drive decent cars...
But I guess its not actually a good thing, if your insurance is high I suppose you are deemed a risk for a reason.

I also notice that number 2 on the admiral list is Undisclosed modifications to the car. I bet there are loads of people out there driving with undisclosed modifications - Admiral recently upped my insurance by 200 quid just for installing a PRM.
