Over here it's impossible - at least with my insurer -to get an S insured beneath the age of 26. One wonders why..

actually proving "fronting" must be quite difficult for the insurance companies.

"why were u driving sir?"

"my dad lent me his car for a few days"

what can they say after that? i am insured to drive the vehicle, its owned by him according to the vehicle docs, i was just borrowing it.

I know this isnt correct or even legal i guess but it is frustrating to be branded with the "high risk" brush when in 5 years i have never had an accident, well not strictly true but non they know of. This also isnt a jump from a 1.1 fiesta to a 240bhp car as i have worked up and the Type R is really pretty close in performance but yes this will be my first RWD car.

i dont want to go down this route as i do want to earn my no claims. It was how we did things when i was 17-19 when i couldnt possibly afford the ridiculous premiums.

However i do want an S2000! E-sure are getting back to me....fingers crossed.

Insurance is a pain, keep ringing though. It may be worth ringing back the companies you got the best quotes with. Try playing with the mileage per year, dropping it down 1000 miles can sometimes tip the scales on a price drop.
Even just ringing back the same insurer asking for a new quote can sometimes give a different price.

Not nearly as difficult as you might think - it depends on what their motivations are...... If you've just written off your
