This. I get the renewal through the post "£300 more than last year" What? why? I have 1 more year NCB, etc...

Cue 12 phone calls to both firms before they eventually give me their real lowest quote... annoying but I've had to do it every year...

I do the exact same thing. Despite ending up with the same underwriter (marketstudy) I saved £125 just by ringing flux and not renewing with sky.

renewal is £600 with 7yrs NCD daily driver and with all mods declared - a few to list. Didn't think that was too bad. considering it includes all the add-ons such as courtesy car and legal cover etc.

It wasn't actually the cheapest as that was esure but heard very bad things about them. A few others such as AXA and Swift were cheaper until I declare mods. Like previously mentioned there is a lot of variables with insurance - postcode, occupation, purpose of use, driving history etc.

This is pretty much exactly my situation.

Just renewed with the same company through another broker and saved £110! Makes no sense. Lol.

Hethersett is obviously slightly cheaper than Wymondham as I'm £165* FC with all my mods declared.
43yrs young with 25 years NCB.

Steve

* Actual insurance is £330 for my S2000 and my 2012 CRV - so I have guessed it's 50/50.

+1 with Classic Line here, 43, 10+ years NCB. Can't say exact cost as I chopped in an '01 Civic Coupe for my '04 car. However it was only £80 more on the policy with Equity Red Star. Plus that includes european breakdown cover.
