Default Integra DC5 type-R

Love my S2000 to bits but need something that little bit more practical. Anyone had or know anything about the Integera DC5 Type-R, is it a fancy civic for more money ?

Try a search - someone's son was posting pics of their new DC-5 on here a couple of months back IIRC. Can't remember much about it other than it looked good.

I like them a lot. There's one locally and it is very if I needed a four seater it would be on my must test list.

Very cool, sound great and go well - very well. There is one locally to me and hers is white - I would consider one for sure

Much better than a Civic Type R because the LSD means they can put power through the front wheels and give you steering that actually works (if it's anything like the DC2)

totally with Bass

We swapped our UK Civic Type R for an import DC5 and the difference is very noticable, mainly due to the LSD and steering. In theory, the engine puts out more bhp too than the Civic (there are engine differences but i can't remember them right now) but this probably does not transpire due to the lower spec fuel available in the UK - the DC5 is designed to run on 100 octane.

The DC5 is quite exclusive right now (circa 150-200 in the UK) but this may change with the success of the BTCC cars

Plenty of tuning parts available from induction/exhaust to superchargers/turbos.

Colours available are white, red, silver, metallic blue and black. Most cars are available as "C" spec which is the top spec - air con, electric folding mirrors, rear wash wipe, blacked out rear window and rear quarterlights, HIDs. We went for a standard spec one (don't like the blacked out windows) which had been specced up in Japan with air con and HIDs. You can't get rear wash wipe without the blacked out windows - i've tried.

Check out the UK DC5 site Integra Type R Owners Website

worth checking insurance before you get too interested though, because it's quite rare and an import they wanted almost twice what the S2000 was going to cost me when i looked at one, depreciation in the first year or two is pretty harsh as well.
