Life is too short, and there are soooooo many cars out there that I want to try before I can't anymore due to personal reasons or the fact the cars don't exist anymore - I say go for it!

S2000s are more common, you can always come back to one and there are plenty out there that are loved and cared for as much as yours so you should still be able to find a good one!

What car is it exactly you're after?

You say the car of your dreams is German, so it obviously is not the Doretti found recently in a barn in Devon.

The experts say it will fetch c£20,000, which I think is a gross underestimate!

S2000 easier to drive but I wouldn't say the other one is that much more demanding to drive, in fact it can be used daily if you wished to do so, just that the cost of maintenance is not cheap eg 24K service will set you back a good several hundred pounds. Discs will set you back 800 squids for the set etc.

If the car you want is in reach go for it, it's why i've ended up with th s2k.
If it is an old porsche the main dealers are always worth speaking to, I was running a 924 (lowest of the low) before the s2k and they were competative on parts and I was treated with the same respect and courtesy as the modern big spenders.
