makes a difference to that little lads life - huh! that is living the dream for that little boy - no mistake!

Makes you think about these things a little - sure my car is special to me just as yours will be to you. Every time I get out of my car it gives me a smile on my face but you do kind of take these things for granted!

I don't know if you can be proactive about something like this BUT.....

If you lot are serious I could approach a childrens' hospice near me.

Maybe they have special days? I'm thinking it would be nice if we could 'sponsor' a day where the cars were only part and things like horse rides would be included.

After all, not all of the kids would be interested in sports cars (or well enough )

What do you think?

I don't know Kelk, but I imagine it just needs a coordinator/leader and some research (deliberate understatement).

I mean, say someone approached us and said "would you be interested in getting 10 of your cars here for a day for terminally ill kids?", what would we say?

Part of me thinks they must do things like this for themselves, and after all, they are unlikely to want one 'fun day' after another............

If they do it for themselves it would probably be easy for them to accommodate us in whatever programme they have.

If they dont, well, it's back to my first point.

Still, I reckon if you approached organisations, from local stables to helicopter schools, they would find it very hard to say no.

I'm sure any event organised like this would generate a serious amount of support from the site.

The case with the Subarus was particularly special as the kid was obviously a real rallying/Subaru fan. As you mention, not all kids will be particularly interested in sports cars so it might be a bit harder to find such a worthy cause.

However, as I said on Scoobynet, it would be great to be involved in an event such as this.

Let's not forget that thanks to the efforts of a lot of people on this site (and in particular the event organizers like Pete, Ade, Ian etc) we have raised a lot of money for charity over the past few years.

Very event and excellent pics on that thread though!
