Default Ipod to CTR HU connector?

My sister is planning on buying an ITrip for her boyfriend, who owns a 53 plate CTR. I've warned her about the weaknesses of an ITrip but, before she goes down the Ice Link Plus route, is anyone aware of an alternative connector set up?

I've had mine for over 2 years now, works great.

Only other suggestions are to change the HU to an Alpine one and add in their control box for the iPod or just buy a new HU with a minijack in on the front - might even be cheaper than a dension setup, although this way the ipod would not charge
