Default Ipod kits

yes, i've used the search function but i can't find the info I'm after

How have you all fitted your ipod connectors?
Most of the ones I see on ebay have a box of tricks, about the size of a small matchbox - will this fit behind the headunit or will i need to squeeze it in somewhere else?

thanks for any tips

If only the size of a matchbox then will fit fine behind or to the side of the headunit. There quite a bit of space underneath/sides at the back.

I was looking at something similar but in the end I replaced my HU with an Alpine as suggested by Lovegroova. Has the ipod connector and a USB socket for flash drives etc. Got the HU and the necessary wiring for the steering controls for under 160 quid and the sound is much better than the standard HU. Might not be what you want to do but it works very well. Install was easy and done in under 30 mins.
