Would like to venture into Europe again this year so will just have to wait and see....
I was thinking of going on a driving holiday down to the south of France around the 3-18th of July. Thinking along the lines of drive down, spend a week on the coast then a week of driving maybe up by the Alps etc.

Also look what i just bought lol:

Sounds great but CHANGE THE DATES!!

I'll be in Spain, not driving from 2nd-11th, and the Isle of Man Mega Meet is the 16th-19th July.

You don't really want to be in the south of France in late July or in August - its just uncomfortably hot - thats why half the French themselves feck off during that time. What about early June? Or even April or May?

I speak pretty decent French too which would be useful - decent and getting better as I now need it for work.

I guess you bought that watch from Jeff? -Didn't know what it looked like-had visions of something tacky when he texted me about it, but I like it - subtle/stylish enough.

Ya i dunno why i bought it tbh, i never wear my watch but then with no clock and the S going back on the road in March maybe i might. Ah sure i could do the IOM meet on the way back lol. Suppose i could change the date, just want a holiday and a driving "holiday" before i go on my study leave for exams in September.

Hotel/Ferry booked. Belfast - Douglas Friday 16th, Douglas-Belfast Monday 19th.

I booked for two, with a twin room so if anyone's looking to come along please get in touch - or I'll just have to end up trying it on with one of the female hotel staff to at least use the extra space in the room!

For anyone interested in joining me as a passenger here are the details as I see it:

Details are:

Leaving Dublin about 7:30am Friday 16th July - Ferry leaves Belfast 10:45am - you usually have to get to the port an hour beforehand in Dublin/DunLaoighaire anyway.

Ferry leaves Isle of Man 1:45pm Monday 19th - dont know how long to get back but I guess 3 hours? Ill post in the thread to ask. So it would be at least 7pm reaching Dublin I guess?

Cost is €473 for the hotel(Twin Room) and car&passenger on the ferry.
THen theres a £40stg ticket fee to S2kI for the event- per Person - you'd have to book this yourself through the Event page(link at end of the message) unless theres some way i can add to my booking - don't think so though.

THe ferry is normally bout €195 for car & one passenger - HOtel is normally £95stg a night for a twin(i emailed them seperately). So you could say about €175 is the Ferry and €300 is the HOtel?

Hotel would have to be split down the middle obviously...

Then its a question of how much of the €175 for the Ferry you think its fair to pay as a passenger...?

Let me know anyway,

If your looking for passengers for the IOM Meet it might be worth posting on Octane.ie or mentioning it at the C+C/Monthly meet this weekend
