Nothing too serious. Will explain in person at a meet - or on the Ireland drive at the end of May? Or Isle of Man? It was you who said you were interested I joining me for that yeah?

Assuming there's no core chassis/structural damage I aim to have this sorted within a month.

Looks like I'll either be suffering a big bill on this or going through insurance. Parts alone, if I get them all new, and this is with a decent discount, are likely to be €3000-3500. About €2850 of this I can be sure of just from looking at the outside(Wings, Bonnet,Bumper, front bumper bars/slam panels, headlights)-the rest is me allowing for random/miscellaneous. If its dry tonight I'll get the bonnet open and see what I've ####ed inside. And then there's the possibility of suspension/tracking/etc damage as I mounted a curb during this...

Crazy one for you - Headlights, if bought new directly from Honda, are €600 plus VAT EACH!! And thats just the housing, doesnt include the bulbs/ballasts etc... just hope my ballasts are ok...

It also seems the 00-03 and 04+ parts are different, not just the bumper. Or at least they have different part numbers from Honda...

Thanks lads but its an 03.

With the price I can get the Bumper, Bonnet, Wings and bumper inner bars for, I think I'll just get them new regardless - as I doubt I'll get that lot for too much less than what I cant get them for new - if Ebay UK is anything to go by.

If I found a set of 04+ headlights though I'd take those.

If it stops snowing I'll be breaking the bonnet open this evening(wedged into wing at front) and seeing whats ####ed inside....

Going out to a repair place tonight to get a quote/assessment, and another one next Tuesday morning. If anyone can recommend anywhere for doing the full job let me know - preferrably somewhere insurance approved as I think I'll be going that route... & just hope I don't get refused renewal on the car come December.

Praying for no chassis/structural damage... the bills may be bad, and I'm pretty gutted, but it would crush me if it wasn't repairable...

Had a look over it last night and I think the engine components/engine bay in general is ok. Radiator looks to have taken a blow but isn't leaking. The Air-con pump (I think it is) doesn't seem to be leaking but did get ripped apart a bit.

Suspension bits all seem in one piece... and I believe wishbones etc tend to shatter rather than bend...

Well, this makes that trip over to Center of Gravity all the more essential once alls fixed (which it hopefully can be...)

Quoi? just a quick one for ya.

Have a good think before you go through the insurance. I know its might be the financially easier option. But as we've seen recently it may take up to 6 months to settle an insurance claim.

I'm sure that if you keep hunting online for parts, you'll find all what you need for far less than you think (granted it may take allot of research). Insurance companies are under massive pressure to pay out to thousands of people right now, due to our recent and current weather conditions.

I know how much it sucks having the car off the road right now, but all I can see happening is that your premiums will double and you'll still be waiting for a pay out at christmas

As I said before please let me know if I can help

True. Definitely a consideration. However I do have the dry cash if I need to fork out for it until a claim would come through. Though it is part of house depeosit savings so would leave me unable to buy until the claim finished.

As for saving on the parts online, I'm not sure. I'm getting for a decent bit less than normal Honda prices (significantly less even than the above repairer (who's sending a full quote to me tomorrow) would be getting them).
And the major parts are all quite bulky - Wings, Bonnet, bumper so are expensive to ship - a bit of hunting on Ebay UK and it appears it would cost not far off what I'd be getting the stuff new for.

Visual/on the spot labour assessment was around my initial guestimate- I assume that included paint/materials but I actually forgot to ask. I'm getting the full quote tomorrow.
Don't want to post actual prices here until its all decided on, but will discuss by PM/offline if anyone wants to.
