The IRISH Thread
Well if you want a main dealer, I know that Peter Deignan on the N11 near Bray does service more S2000's than most dealers. I had mine in to check and fix a coolant leak a long time ago and got a decent service. Give them a call and ask some specifics about the S and see if you get a good vibe.
I'm in the same boat as mine is due for a service and am not sure weather to leave it into a main dealer coz of what happened the last time but still want to keep my full service history...
I have a full main dealer history as well. I'd like to keep it - but to be honest, I wouldn't be fully convinced that some of the main dealer mechanics would be coming across these cars too often themselves!
Unless there's an independent mechanic out there that actually knows the car though, I'll go with the main dealer...

Your problem is most of the Honda dealers will not do more than one S2000 service in a year. And unless it is a major service they will just change the oil and inspect the brakes. I know that the main dealer gives you confidence, but if I was purchasing another S2000 it wouldn't put me off at all to see an indy stamp.
Jonner - better check the dipstick yourself next time you get a service before you drive away!

I'd even be happy enough to get the standard service done by the main dealer (oil, filters etc) and then if needs be get the brakes done by an independent. TO be fair, that's where the cost is going to come in.
Can get Brakes International to deliver to Derry where I have to go for a wedding in a week and a half anyway. I can then bring them down here and get them fitted I suppose...

Definitely a new caliper for the drivers side rear. To be honest though, I'd say that the pads/discs probably need a change as well at this stage. Plan is to send it in for a standard service with the guy whose number I got from Oisin and get him to have a look at the brakes.
Depending on what he tells me, I should be able to order what's neeeded off Brakes Intl, get it delivered to Derry and collect it while I'm at the wedding. I can get them fitted then by the same guy at that stage.
I should save myself some cash by doing it that way anyway. Good point on the fluids as well by the way. I'll be bringing along my own oil more than likely as well.
