He has sold the Ohlins DFV and has ordered Tein SRC, I would be interested to hear why as frankly I don't rate Tein shocks.

Previous experience with them. They are quite good value but I have tried two sets on both my Evo and WRX and both made the car very bouncy. I changed my WRX to HKS Hyper Max II and to be honest they were a massive improvement over the Teins but cost 50% more. It is very difficult to do comparisons as there is so much available, if I still had my S my money would go to Ohlins, ASM or HKS's new Hypermax III which would be my budget option. I have viewed KW's and although thought of quite highly on these forums, I don't rate them either but it is a personnel choice at the end of the day. What does irritate me though is comments that HKS etc are too firm for UK roads, when most people have zero experience!

The other consideration is maintance of your suspension. If the car is used daily in our climate the shocks will likely need a rebuild within two years, and that would be harder to achieve with HKS or Tein or say Ohlins or KW's.

I know your Evo comes with them, but if I was going after market my money wouldnt be going on Bilsteins! I prefer Jap made stuff on Jap cars at the end of the day it is a personnel choice and there is plenty of choice for all budgets and tastes

yes but those Ohlins are likely made in Germany not Japan thought you were on about selling it last week, make your mind up!!

As I said I would have no quarms fitting them to European cars, just not Jap performance cars, I think there are better choices but that is a personnal preference and experience only

thanks for sharing ur experience.
it also depends on the range you are getting from manufacturer, e.g. whether it's the entry- mid or pro-level.
I hear the Tein SRC are really good, whereas the Flex is not worth a shot.

I agree but to me Tein have too many variations in there range, similar to Sony and there LCD tv's it is over complex and before you purchase you can't try all of what is on offer from Tein wheres as you can view all the sony LCD's . Tein's EFC also seems to be a gimmick rather than useful and have seen various people taking it off after installation, at the end of the day it is personnal choice but after trying two sets of Teins I wouldnt put my money there again.
