Default J's Thermostat and Fan Switch

Just received my J's reduced temp Thermostat and Fan Switch.

I know the stat fits near the intake manifold and I believe the fan switch is on the rad.

Anyone fitted these and have any install tips and more accurate locations would be good.

Thanks Andy

Be careful with the fan switch, it isn't difficult to break the plastic radiator

Piece of cake Andy.

Take the centre under tray off the car.
Drain all the coolant.
Swap over the fan switch in the bottom of the radiator.
Unbolt the thermostat housing (watch out for a face full of coolant).
Swap over thermostat (more face coolant )
Replace thermostat housing and bolt back up (thermostat will only go in one way)
Fill with coolant and bleed off any air in the systm.
Start car and check for leaks.
If happy re fit central under tray.

If you've any plans to fit Samco hoses, nows a good time

Simple job - I didn't need to remove any undertrays - the thermo switch is accessible easily enough.

One word of caution - make sure you install th thermostat with the nipple the right way.

Also make sure you have two lots of type II coolant and some a 5 litre container of distilled water to flush the old coolant out.

Give me a shout if you got any questions.

You must have very nimble nipples AB, to be able to install a thermostat with yours.
