I'm so glad you have been reunited with your car. Let us hope that October is the new September and you have plenty of sunny crisp days for some roof down drives

Well she's had one extra one this evening due to leaving her handbag behind the first time, car sounds so much nicer although the running in process seems to be a source of mild yet happy frustration.

Just got the rest of the list of niggles to work through but I can confirm that there is definitely a new short engine in the engine bay

Glad the car's back and fixed, let's hope you can take better care of it this time and not break it Hope to see you at the Surrey meet next week, the miles will certainly help the running in process

That's great news.

I have a question about running in.

60mph, 600 miles.
That's 10 hours of driving.

Could you do it all in one day if you were so inclined, or does it have to be spread over time?

I wouldn't want to run a car in at 60mph - the idea is to have a mix of speeds up to 60 mph and at a range of engine speeds up to 4krpm. The greater the mix, the better the run in will be. Doubtless others will have different ideas. I've always seen it the same way as bedding in brakes.

@Bokkie - Congrats on getting Jenson back.

Run him in gently, and then once run in, give him a good old thrashing

@Gaspode - Hang in there, and hope you get Snowy back soon.

Thanks for your well wishes folks, it means a lot to me!

Rob: If I had my way Jenson would be run in already - 600 miles is nothing to this old nomad!

210 miles on the clock, 390 to go...not that I'm counting.

Sazzy, I've got the car back and look at the weather! Argh!

October's weather improves for some topless driving.

The funny thing is I'm so chuffed to have my car back that I'm not really that fussed about the weather!

Jenson!

I'm so happy to have my car back but I can't help thinking of Gaspode & Snowy - lets hope their reunion is imminent!
