Default Just driven an S2000 for the first time!

and I'm not sure it was ok!! I've just test driven a 1999 model and whilst it was in lovely condition, with a great engine, I found the ride very 'skittish' and it really wanted to drift to the left on the motorway required a little steering input to keep it tracking true. The steering wheel wasn't centred properly either, so i'm thinking that this particular car needs some steering geometry set up work doing, does that sound right, or do they all do that?? Like I said it was my first drive in one so i've nothing to compare it to.

Thanks

Chris

Hello Chris
No, they don't all do that. Sounds like your assessment is correct, and that the geo is badly out. This can happen, and if it's a car you are interested in buying, and the rest of the car is good, then this ought not to be a deal-breaker. Issue will be whether the suspension alignment bolts have seized, in which case it is quite a big (but not insurmountable) job to free them before the geo can be corrected. Maybe get a quote for geo correction and factor that into your negotiations.

Centre of gravity charge £59 plus vat per hour, worst case scenario 10 hours labour plus £250 for the set up itself plus parts, like I said worse case you could be looking at close to £1000 more likely to be half that though so factor this into your purchase price

Also I have found this can happen after new tyres have just been fitted.

It's junk.
Buy one from a member on here.
And ask if the bushes have been serviced/adjusted/replaced and get proof of the work.

Anything else is a gamble or potentially a lot of money down the tubes.
There are bucketloads of used S2k around now, not many good ones it seems.

See you on here soon,
Steve
