Default just got my s2000

got my s2000 last week and loving it. i get up with a grin on my face everymorning now for work. cause it gives me an excuse to drive my S.
my s is an import and the only annoying thing is the radio as the short frequency means i can only get radio 2 on fm doah! do i need a new head unit or can this one be reset?
a colleague at work has a z3 2.8 and said his car would eat mine for breakfast is this true as have not had a chance yet to test his theory!
also the birds at work reckon it is well nice and stated that they thought the z3 looked pants campared to the S. well one up already to the s. lets hope its two up when it comes to the drag race that will inevitably happen!

Cheers guys

ps hoping to make the meet at woodhall spa

Let him think that he has such a great advantage over you, that way his fall will be oh so much more painful

Enjoy your car.

no.. he won't win.. espically on the bendy bits..

Also ask him how much he paid for it.. and where exactly did all the extra money go between the cars...

The only Z3 you need to worry about is the M version
S2000 - 240 bhp, 1260kg
2.8 Z3 - 193 bhp, 1320kg. You do the math
3.0 Z3 - 230 bhp, 1315kg.

Is the S2000 weight a dry weight? or wet but driverless or all in?

Only reason I ask is cause BMW include a full tank of fuel and a driver (albeit not one my size )

Don't know (no driver but with fuel I think). The relevance depends on how the testers weigh the car. bmw may 'publish' the weights with fuel & driver but that doesn't stop a car mag testing the weight without driver and fuel etc.... In some mags they use the manufacturers figures until they test it then they put their own in hence many mags reporting 0-60 in 6.2 (hondas stats) for the s2000 but most mags achieve around 5.5. Many manufacturer err on the side of caution, some more than others.

Evo quotes the M Coupe at 4.3 0->60.. I think that might the methanol version..

Was more interested in the power/weight ratio rather than 0-60 times, but the driver can make a lot of difference. A lot more so in something like a VXT/Westie/Clio Cup

Interestingly (or not) the Accord we've just obtained does nearly 70 in second. Takes a while to get there, but 1 gear change goes a long way to making it faster. Just takes a while for the i-VTEC to get going (@5krpm)
