Default Kilometers or Miles?

This may sound like a really dumb question - but ...

I've been reading a lot of technical detail on this forum, and in particular the ones about when to change to full synth engine oil.

I saw several references (including a technical bulletin) where it said "change to full synth at 6k"

In S. Africa we talk kilometers - and assume the 6k you guys use is miles ..... correct?

Used to use kms - now having to use miles. Won't be long until Brussels orders a change though

Which technical bulletin? It depends on which country issued the TIB, as the UK and the US use miles, whereas Europe, South Africa and Japan use kilometers.

If you switch the clock to kmph, you get to see the 3rd digit light up more often on the speedo. Gets me excited
