Post Knocking Question

Following our trip to Center Gravity, we have developed a knocking noise at the back end of the car. It sounds like a metalic hard-ish knock.

I wondered if this was just because all the suspention setting have been changed and it needs chance to settle in, or if a bush might have split (chris didnt mention any looked like they might split), or something else...

Any advise appreciated, I will contact Chris at Center Gravity if you lot cant help, maybe take another trip down there and get it looked at.

Considering having the full Poly Bush treatment at some point, who was it off here who tried it, was it Ian? How does it feel after a long term test??

99% sure its not the exhaust.

It has two knocks apparently, one at the front, one at the back.

The front knock happens more under braking.

The back knock happens more over bumps.

Thanks again

Checked the wheel nuts?

Powerflex haven't made all the poly bushes yet, so I'd wait until they have. In fact, I am.

We didnt have to take the wheels off, so all wheel nuts should still be fine.

I think PowerFlex have made all but one poly bush and you can use Spoon for the one that PowerFlex dont make.

Tightening wishbone bolts when the suspension is not under load, but it is Chris himself who explained the knocking issue that would arise from that and he is so precise and systematic that I would be surprised if that is the problem.

Chris is a star !!!

I mentioned this to Chris and he drove straight up to my house, over 100 miles each way, to have a look !!

After about 3 hours of double double checking he confirmed that the knocking noise was the Seized bushes starting to unseize slightly. This was due to the amount of Plug-gas that I had covered them in, followed by Chris covering them in WD40.

This freeing of the seized bushes isnt a good or a bad thing. They WILL not move as they are still locked in possition, also the freeing will only be slight and they will soon seize up again so there is no joy on trying to adjust the bolts.

So just wanted to let you all know again what a star Chris and his family are !
