Default lambda sensor problems

I am in the process of fitting a de-cat but the lambda sensor will not budge, i have used penetrating oil but no success . Ive got a proper 22mm lambda sensor socket on order to try.
Can i just unplug the sensor and remove the cat and fit the de-cat until i get it out ? or will this cause ECU problems ?

thanks for the help

Yes, you can unplug the sensor. There is a clip that secures the loom that requires pliers to remove.

Once the cat is out, you'll find that it is MUCH easier to remove the lambda sensor.

...oh, and just in case, lefty loosy, righty, tighty

You should not fit the decat without the O2 sensor however.

You can fit the decat without the lambda, but I would definately plug the hole.

You will also get a CEL, but it will not harm the car or cause ECU issues.

Dan you might get a CEL with the decat and lamda, not a problem but you will need a spacer to get rid of it.
