I would try a ECU reset before playing with the sensors!

i did an ecu reset when i put a new air filter in about 2 weeks ago

no it runs fine
I'm guessing you have the engine managenent light on?
Have you had the fault codes read, it should show where the fault is!

No i dont have a light on, it just seems to drive very flat and the exhaust tips seem to get black very quickly, it doesn't burn too much oil either, 40,000 miles

Go get an emissions check to see if its fuelling right...have you checked your spark plugs for deposits/carbon etc?

no havent checked plugs, adjusted valves the other day which made it better some were too tight
