That's happened to me 3 or for times also. I just reset the ecu and tap on the map sensor and it seems to be normal after that. I'm not sure which one actually helps because I usually do them at the same time. Am I crazy?

yeah, I had the car idling rough once recently as well. seemed to want to idle below 1000 rpm, but it didn't do it today. I've seen this on my other cars before and once they get warmed up it usually goes away. I'm not sure as to the cause, but I don't really think it's anything to worry about (like a bad spark plug).

just my $.02 tho-- I await the experts of this board to log in and give the definitive answer.

This is a common problem on FTOs. On the Mistubishi FTO the problem is actually the idle speed controller (stepper motor). This is usually easy to fix just by removing it and giving it a brush to clean it off and then re-installing it. Sometimes you may need to buy a whole new stepper motor if cleaning it doesn't work.

Don't know where it is on the s2000 (I'm too new to these cars), but here is a link for the FTO, it may give you some idea (that's if it is applicable at all!)
