Default Latest update on the deceleration buzz

Things are looking up.

I got a call from Customer Services at Honda UK this morning telling me that they need to upgrade the clutch to the 055 part and that they have a fix for the stalling problem.

Upon their request I have booked the car into Chiswick Honda and will be taking it in on Thursday morning. They think they can get all of the work done by the end of the day.

Which is nice. I am very pleased and will be even more pleased when I get into the car on Thursday afternoon to hear that the buzz has gone.

Again, thanks for all of your comments guys.

Mine was in two days as well, but (ostensibly) that was because I was also having the exhaust changed and they had to order in some new bolts.

Well my 2 day clutch change is now on its 3rd day! The dealer couldn't get the gearbox off cos of some metal dowel thingy so they drilled that out and then proceeded to break some sensor so they are having to order a new one.

Interestingly though the car has completed 15000 miles and the service manager told me this morning that the old clutch plate was down to the rivets and would have need to be replaced very soon, so saved some money there. Still it doesn't seem very long for a clutch to last!!

Inspired by you guys, I just went to my dealer today and complained about the noise. The service manager found out about the Honda Service bulletin and immediately ordered the new clutch and they put it in next week. First I hear a Dutch S2000 gets a new clutch! I probably have taken longer to complain if it wasn't for this board!

My new 055 clutch plate has been in nearly four weeks now (car itself is only 5 months old) - I think that it is as noisy as ever now, if not louder - so much for the modification !!

I'm assured that it was the 055 modification they put it.....

I was quoted 2 days by Geo Collins Honda for the clutch replacement / roof adjustent and alignment.

They have just called to say they will need the car another 1/2 day. The clutch is the 3rd they have done, and they say went really well - all fineshed in less than a day (and no damage to the transmission tunnel plastic console cover - I asked them to take care, and the service manager said they can now get them off without any levering or priseing. So I am pleased about that.

It seems that the clutch replacement should be do-able in a day for an engineer who has done it before.

BTW - I really dont like the sound of drilling out dowlly thingamys!!!! I am sure they shouldnt have to do that
