okay so my car didnt go into Chiswick Honda as planned today. They need to order the part and they need to apply to do the work under warranty and blah, blah, blah. I guess it will be some time next week now.

Im taking the car into Bracknell tyres on Saturday to have a new pair of S02's put on the front. I noticed that they are looking worryingly thin on tread on the inside edge. Still I think this has been keeping the oversteer in check recently!

I also want to look into having a few stone chips touched up on the front nearside wing (does anyone else find that this is the area of their car that suffers most from stone chips?).

Finally, I want to get a little dent 'sucked out' from just behind the drivers door. I think then the car will be back to its best.

Can anyone recommend a reliable and inexpensive bodywork bloke in the Maidenhead area?

I had my clutch replaced recently to remove the deceleration buzz and it took 3 days to do. I have noticed that it is gradually coming back when I lift off at high revs in 2nd or 3rd. My dealer put in a redesigned clutch plate.

The 'buzz' problem in question is only apparent at around 3,500 rpm. What do you mean by 'high revs'?

Sounds like a lot of people have had problems with deceleration noise!

I bought my 2000 model in October last year. Adore the car. On the test drive the noise was very apparent between 4000 and 3500 rpm. Before I committed to buying the car I contacted Honda and asked them whether they had ever encountered any problems with the gearbox/clutch.

"We are not aware of any problems" they said, "but it is a warranty issue"

So I bought the car and took it to the local dealer who told me that this was the third car they had encountered with the problem. They were very good, telling me that they would relace the clutch and the gearbox, a 2 day job.

When I got the car back, the problem was solved, or so I thought!

After about 1000 miles, the noise came back, and I returned to the dealer. I was told that there was a new clutch which was fitted to the 2002 model. It was fitted last week and, so far, there are no problems. Fingers crossed!!

If recent clutch changes haven't cured the vibration, could it be the gearbox? - my dealer didn't hesitate in committing Honda to this expense

Is there any particular gear for the buzzing?

I do a lot of running in 2nd gear because of the tight roads and it's generally a pretty noisy affair apart from just engine/exhaust.

Brake pedal starting to squeak today.

Kobe,

The noise was principally in second and third gears, but probably worst in third, and only really apparent between 4000 and 3500 rpm on engine deceleration. It sounded pretty dreadful - embarrassing when trying to look cool approaching traffic lights!!
