Default Light in starter button

My starter button has never lit up in my ownership. Reading the forums apparently it should. I've tried to get my hand behind the dash ( whilst laying upside down in the footwell!!) to no avail. Any suggestions apart from leave it be?!

Cheers, Nige.

It's kinda hard to see the light, I wasn't sure mine lit up till I turned the dash lights up full back and tried it in the dark garage.

No idea if mine lights up or not, going to have to have a look at that one (and replace with super-bright LED )

It should light up and yes, it's a dash panel out job to get at it - that's not actually 'that' much work. If you know what you are about, it's half an hour of time.

Though it might be easier to access the starter button by removing the dah, you can actually get to it if you lie facing upwards with you head by the pedals. you need small childlike hand and the abs of a demi-god but it is possible.

I have a gauge positioned to where the OEM audio controls are and I can just about reach in to tighten the thumb screws etc.

The starter button is removed by squeezing the two metal clips and pushing forward (into cabin).

Not an easy feat but certainly possible without the need to remove the dash.

Removing the starter button in an S2000 is one of the easiest jobs i've ever done. There's almost nothing blocking access.

They should all light up. My first S2000 didn't and I didn't know until I got the second one. Worth the hassle though.

Just depends how much work you want to make for yourself - removing the dash is easy peasy and it's a good excuse to swap out the rest of the lamps for LEDs at the same time. Cars are getting old now and all that NVH doesn't do great things for filament life.
