I fitted a Fujita item which is similar to the V2 and Typhoon jobbies.

It is LOUD, especially the last 500rpm.

I wouldn't worry about hydrolocking the engine with these filters either unless you plan on driving through 2ft of water!

1000% Disagree

I remember before I had a Hyro-shield, one morning it was that horrid misty / heavy rain, I floored it off some traffic lights got to about 4k RPM and the car massively bogged down, the car ran like a PoS for the rest of the journey to work. I started to strip it down and it turned out to be water in the CAi tube

That's not the greatest idea, a hydrostatic condom doesn't cost much and there's considerable risk of water climbing up, especially if you attend a jockmeet .

Typhoon was very loud and also relatively cheap but if I was to do it again (and I wont) it would be a K&N Gen2, not as loud but generally better design and no hydrolocking risks.

Go for a PRM. Had mine for 3 years and great.

Give it a year and then go for an aftermarket exhaust, ignore the drone, and the sound is awesome!!!

Sorry to steal this thread but, whats the best open intake for power and sound? Id love an AEM V2 and would be a bonus If it had a decent increase in power too.
AEM V2 or K&N FIPK

Me and Kiwi both saw half decent dyno's with the K&N on.

both are equaly easy/hard to source or import but the K&N is a fairly simple swap in that should not really take the slowest enthusiast more than three hours. The AEM needs a little more effort for fitting as people remove plastic undertray and often the bumper.

Might be a daunting prospect for some people, I went for K&N over AEM for this reason.
