Default MAP Sensor

MAP Sensor probs I think

Never had this prob before acclerate hard ,cars fine flying along all the way throw revs ,vetec kicks in again fine no probs (this was my last prob with the map sensor, hesitancy in vetec ) then change up a gear and the engine just drops to no revs at all for a half second or so then its all systems go again

So shall I just keep wacking it with the rubber mallet or is this something else ??

By note has anyone had their MAP Sensor replaced under extended warrenty or is it far wear and tear
