My MY2001 has a single post, towards the driver's door.

Just fitted my Muz mats, the poxy Honda post is next to useless, all ways moves and comes loose.
have just bent it back to shape and covered every concieveable surface in prit mirror pads to glue it to the cross member.

Ah that seems far more stable, if this fails will add additional srews to front of cross member !

What I did in the end was fasten the bracket over the top of the carpet and then the Muz mat hides the damned bracket (and that annoying flap in the carpet) altogether!

I think it's pretty widespread, if not standard. All I can tell you is I ordered the stock mats when I bought the car. When I picked up the car, I was so furious that they'd cut that flap in the carpet to accommodate the mat post, that they they threw the mats in for free! I can't believe there isn't a neater way to do it, although it would involve a little more work!

I think it might be a Honda UK PDI thing, my car has the cut too (I always thought there was a VIN under there or something ) it wasn't until very recently someone pointed out its for the OEM mats
