compared to similar performance/price range cars it is quite reasonable though probably about twice what a average hot hatch costs.

If you have to regard the S as a "car" then it may be expensive to run - I only need a car at weekends, so I think of mine as a real life video game. That way its so much fun I don't really think about the costs.

Jamie I can quite understand where you are coming from. This is why I keep my little Clio - it looks naff, the stereo is naff, it will break the speed limit just, but it has some benfits:

1) no loan outstanding on it : no outgoings to own the car
2) insuarance is cheap : no worries there then, it costs the same as about a night out at a curry house with a bottle of wine
3) it uses so little fuel it's great, about
