Default Mice

My 2 wheelie bins are covered in mice droppings and they've even been running all over my S2K which is parked about 4 metres away. Can anyone tell me HOW they manage to get up onto the car?

they can climb up or down most things, although freshly waxed paintwork might not be so easy for them. I've had them coming down my chimney recently, they can always find a way. I would suspect they come up through the engine bay and hood vents or the drainage channels.

My uncle once had an X1/9 written of by a mouse. it decided it like the warmth of the cam belt cover and was in there when he turned the engine over. The dead mouse caused the cam belt to slip and resulted in an engine rebuild.

Some good old fashioned mouse traps will do the trick but not with cheese, that's Tom & Jerry myth. I've been told to use Nutella.

Don't leave food in your car. They'll eat through anything to get at it.

Thanks everyone. I think there is a packet of biscuits in the boot - I will remove it now. I'm going to wash the car now and the bins and put down mouse killer. Little monsters.......

Mice ate through some wiring on my Dad's old civic once, was quite expensive to put right.

I had mice in my 205 a while back, they made a nest over the airbox, remember opening the bonnet to be greeted by three baby ones! I laid some poison down (sorry mice lovers) came back two weeks later and there were about a dozen little bodies dotted around the garage. I felt really bad after that and decided to buy one of those plug in sonic zapper things as a deterrent. Seemed to work ok, got the garage sealed properly as well.

Luckily they didn't chew at any wires, surprisingly...
