Default Millars fuel additive. Petrol version.

I use the the diesel version in SWMBOs oil burner and when offered a trial of the petrol one at a discount price, thought, well why not, so instead of V-power I filled with standard shell after adding the required amount, next one return trip to Cheshire for the BTCC meeting, so after a good weekend (apart from a sticky rear caliper, now being replaced under warranty) 600 miles ish, consumption works out at 35mpg and car felt normal performance wise, it may have better if I hadn't had a sticky brake or a heavy foot. So I'll give a go for a bit longer, cost wise a 500 ml bottle good for 10x50 litre fills should cost around £12 inc vat from a factors so works out at approx 2.4p on the cost of fuel somewhat less than the difference of cost from unleaded to V-power, anyone else seen/tried this?

No, but it would be interesting to see how it pans out.

I have big performance plans for my new car and everywhere close to me only sells 97, and i will have to run the car on 99ron.

Did you notice anything with the diesel version, i have a fabia VRS Mk1 but I've heard mixed reports I'd like it for extra MPG if i pays off, i think this stuff has more cetane in it.

know a few companies using it in the vans, a few more mpg is good in high mileage motors, it's also purported to be good for engines with particulate filters in the xhausts, my Seat seems to run better with it.
The blurb on the petrol version bottle says it can improve octane rating by 2 points, it could improve the 97 up a bit, or do all companies just lie to us all continually?

Back in the day, I used to use it all the time on my JDM impreza STi, as did most people. 97 was the best fuel around and most were mapped for 99.

It does work, but pointless on an S2000 which can run on 95-99 Ron with no issues.

The MegaBummer speaks the truth.

In my case my car will be mapped to run on 99 not stock ECU so different kettle of fish.

My thought was that lots of people recommend v power or similar, and, that mixing Millars and standard unleaded worked out lots cheaper if the same performance and mileage was achievable, I'm all for saving money.

I recall a lot of people using 2T oil in a diesel for similar effect...

I use the stuff in my diesel Accord mainly just because it helps the engine burn the diesel better, so less reak out the back.
Can't say I've really noticed any mpg change.

As for my S2000, I put a bottle of Lucas racing octane booster into a tank of Tesco 99 and it did show a couple of bhp increase on the dyno. My car has been mapped on Tesco 99.

That's probably well within margin for error though.

Yeah, but it was positive so I'm taking it as the stuff is atleast having some effect.
