Default Minor leak

First time i've ever had an issue with water getting in, but i'm getting some drops between the soft top and the window when it's raining.

Water seems to be tracking to the midpoint of the window along the top, then dripping down where the join in the seal is.

If I crack the window about 1mm it stops, so i'm guessing the seal isn't working as it should.

Any help with cause / fix appreciated

I have read somewhere about a fix for this where the window is adjustable?? If you do a few searches I'm sure you'll find it. But, I had a similar issue with mine, so now, I lube the rubbers around the side windows and across the top where the soft top meets windscreen with silicone grease. Pretty much eliminated the problem for me. And you can get it for just a few quid, so worth a try if you haven't already.

Chad.

Try some Gummi-Pfledge it's available on eBay and does wonders for rubber. Used it on my 350z it worked really well.

yeh MB, i think for your problem i would say lube it. Altho im having some bother too b-u-t i think my problem is i need to adjust my roof catch so the roof is tighter onto the striker. I think mine is loose so i get water running into that little channel behind the seal and then it gets me a wet shoulder =[

ps. not good today down our way is it?

No it's bloody horrible, and going to be like this for the week

Good point on the catch tightening too.

I actually wondered about putting a length of soft silicon tube inside the leading roof seal, drill the visible top part of the tube with holes so that water can enter it and then feed either end down through the drain holes into either side of the screen.

Have greased the seals again for now.

I just wondered if you could plump up the window seals using a similar idea?

There are a few things you can do, I've posted some stuff before if you do a search.

Making the roof catches adjustable enables you to pull the whole lot down tighter and get a better seal and pretty quick to do.

All rubbers can slide in there S/S carriers and the the S/S carriers are all adjustable by slotted holes.

What you want is a good pressure point on the window all along if you can get it and by careful adjustment you can make a big improvement.

Silicone the seals first as it shows up where they are touching the window, and don't forget to silicone the ends of all the seals where they meet.
