Default missing bolts...

...from the plug cover!

Only just noticed that I only have 2 bolts holding on the plug cover, am sure there should be four, so where did they go and will my dealer replace them?

Can anybody confirm the correct number please.

I lost those two as well - I heard them 'ping' out

According to my dealer it's not uncommon, they even told me that they'd seen a car with all four missing and the plug cover was wedged in the engine bay

They advised using some threadlock.

Chris.

I am really suprised to hear of these popping out, I nearly bust a gut trying to get them loose the first time!! They came unlocked with a 'snap' but once loosened I guess they could work loose again.... I am unsure why your dealer would have had the cover off the car, 03 models didn't need the sparkplug mod did they? Have you had a 27k service recently?

Anyhow, should be cheap as chips to replace if they don't warranty the replacements.

Good luck,

Tif
