Default Missing Hose on Intake Pipe?

Fitted a Refurbed TCT last week from a very nice gentlemen on here.

When removing the airbox i noticed that there was a hose missing from the instake pipe leeding upto the throttle.
Its worrying because it means I've been running the car for some time with effectively no air filter as this will act as a bypass for air.

Can anyone tell me what the missing pipe is and where does it lead to ??

Heres a pic...

AIR PUMP hose, pic 2 item 7

runs down towards the bottom rad hose/front headlight, there should be a metal plug (item 12) coming out of the silicone pipe that goes from the air box to the throttle body that has been ripped out.

metal plug Item 12

Air pump hose Item 7

Yea this really helps guys.

Stupid Q, but what does the air pump do?

This was most likely Honda forgetting to put it back on when the clutch was replaced, found so many other things either loose or not attachted.

I *think* it's there to help emissions when the car is started from cold although i could well be wrong.

Correct.

If you have no air pump (you need to remove the front bumper to find out) you should have the engine light on, unless a 'delete kit' has been fitted.

I can't see why they would disconnect this to replace the clutch, but have a look in the N/S/F corner to see if it is dangling loose.

Nope cant find the loose hose anywhere...

Got me wondering how long its been that way.

I think I definetley have the air pump as I get the wine sound of it on start up for the first minute. (If that is that)

Why is it circ-ing air into the intake? and where is it getting the air from?

It pulls the air from the the intake tube then pumps it into the exhaust via a egr valve that is at the back of the engine on the intake side. There is another flexible pipe after pipe ten that connects to it. The pipe that connects to the intake has either fallen off or it is still there just tucked out of sight
