MOT failure help
So my S2k just failed MOT...
couldnt have come at a worse time as im going away on holiday soon and having a few other problems just means i have a very limited budget for the next month or so
I was just wondering what the best/cheapest way to solve these problems are:
n/s/r shock absorber - would anyone buy a single one second hand or would I have to replace the pair or rears?
lamda sensor - mechanic told me it was the 'pre-cat' sensor. does this make a difference as I can only see one variation online?
also needs a little bit of welding which I am getting sorted but its all eating away at my budget!!
any help will be appreciated
Thanks

Bummer dude.
Shockers - eBay or here, probably have to buy a set of them. Circa £100 x4.
Lambda Sensor - Primary/Upstream is the one that controls fueling. Check Rock Auto, they are cheaper plus you can get the NGK/NTK Oem equivalent which has the right switching rate for the S. Its important to get the right one £100
Welding - Find someone decent. Hard to say dependant on job.
I'd guess if you pay someone to do all the work for you, you'll be looking at around £500/600 for parts and labour.

Thanks for the reply
I am hoping to get a decent set of coilovers when i can afford them so thats why I just want to get one or a pair of shocks if I have to just to get it through the MOT rather than replace the lot

I'd just buy a used pair of dampers someone's already taken off of their car. The OEM shocks are actually very good quality and I was impressed how well judged they were when I first got my S.
As for the pre-cat lambda - personally, I'd buy brand new from Honda but if I was on a budget, a brand name (bosch for instance) through Eurocarparts would be what i'd go for. Remember to buy the appropriate spanner from halfords to install it - I forget how big the spanner is but it's particular to Lambda sensors. The sensor is (from what I recall) mounted at the front of the cat.
