Roadkill - I'm not having a dig

Was an attempt to make a clever reference to what happened to Osama's pals in the Yemen recently........

This will make David wonder why on earth he is coming here

Are you USAF then, David? Most of the American bases in the UK seem to have closed down now or have revered to RAF-only use - the old base at Upper Heyford, which used to be home to F111s, is now used as the venue for trackdays, one of which a number of people on the board went to recently!

I think most of the bases that are left are in the south and east. Mildenhall in Oxfordshire might still be operational - used to be home to F15s and some KC135s. And there's Bentwaters in Suffolk, which used to have A10s based there.

As has already been suggested, get yourself signed up for SuperMeet 3 in May - other than a meet in California which managed 60 S2000s, I gather that SM and SM2 have been the two biggest gatherings worldwide! See some of the beautiful Shropshire and Wales countryside, and just what a friendly bunch we Limeys can be

Mark - is this your other hobby, are you a part-time plane spotter?

Nooooooooooo

I was in RAF section of the school's Combined Cadet Force when I was younger, and up to the age of 18 was all set to join the RAF to fly jets. I drifted into the law after it turned out that marginal eyesight in one eye precluded me from flying

To paraphrase Senator McCarthy, I'm not now nor have I ever been a plane spotter!
