Mph to Kmh
Just to clarify lad's,it's a jdm car that was originally imported to the uk,so it had the conversion to mph there, but i now want to go back to kilometers!
Pressing the blank button on the clocks only resets the trip A or B for me.
The clocks also dont appear to be from a uk spec car as there's like a small little piece of tape thats been fitted over the k on the kmh part of the clock.
I've checked at the ecu and there's no sign's of aftermarket wiring.I removed the surround to the clocks but couldnt get access to the rear of the gauge itself, although i could partly see/feel behind it and there didnt seem to be any additional wiring or box.
If it's attached at the gearbox any pointer's as to where and what im looking for?
Cheers

The converter will be on the gearbox. The wiring 'might' (there are several options and it depends how lazy the installer was) be behind the panel to the left of your left knee (by the stereo). It will look a bit heath robinson, so look out for wires that are not part of the loom. It was only two wires for mine IIRC.
If you find these, and they are disconnected, you will need to find the original wires from the gearbox and install UK clocks to achieve the desired effect.
It might be worthwhile searching for 'speed AND sensor' (use the search bar right at the top of the site to search the whole site, no just the UK part) to find photos, as I'm unsure of the converters exact location.

Just to confuse everybody a little more:
Mine has two converters (at least I think it does). One by the ECU which gets around the limiter, and one somewhere behind the dash that converts the signal going into the clocks. This way is better because it means the power steering ECU gets the correct speed signal. If you just stick one at the gearbox end, everything receives the wrong speed. Whether that makes any difference I've no idea.
My clocks have mph and Km/h LEDs, but the one that's on is the Km/h one but the K led has been disabled.
I'd bet you could get the switch to work by connecting the switch to the right pins on the clocks. Easiest way to find out would be to get a set of UK clocks and JDM clocks and compare. However, even with the switch on the dash working you'd still need the speed converter in front of the ECU to get around the limiter (or a replacement ECU or whatever). Either that or never go above 112 mph.

Piccy of my old one:

Should i be good to go by removing and resoldering the matching wires back together?

Excellent thats what i was after thanks!

I'd leave enough wire so you're able to reconnect it should anything go wrong (can't think what would/could...but it's always good to have a fallback solution).
