Default Multichanger problems.. Help please

Guys,

Got my car back after a week of sorting out the second gear synchro under warrenty. The battery has been disconnected at some point but now my head unit fails to recognise the AUX of the changer. Any ideas if it is related to the battery been disconnected.

It still has power to it and it ejects the CD. The past few weeks I noticed that music played from it is louder on the passenger side ( noticable ) so not sure if its linked. It was still working prior to taking it to the garage the the Service Manager seems to think I need to reset it but cannot see where.

Just picking your brains as it is a 25 mile round trip to the dealer.

Andy

If you need to reset the changer, just pull the lead out the back for a few seconds then plug it back in.

Had a look but it seems to be hard wired in.

I had this problem and assumed the CD changer had died.

2 weeks later i disconnected the battery for some reason. This reset the headunit and i had to re-enter the code.

Both the head unit and the cd changer then started working perfectly again.

Thanks. Will give it a go at the weekend. Disconnecting the barrery in the first place seems to hace caused the problem but worth a go. Had the headunit out and all conected at the back

Since the headunit is out, disconnecting the leads and reconnecting should be the same as disconnecting the battery

Damn, did disconnect the charger but did not bother with the rest of the cables. Put everything back in now.

There may be a reset button on the changer, I have had a couple with pin head sized resets, same for the head unit, worth a look?

Dealer suggested a small reset button might be on it but cannot see anything. Tried disconnecting the battery and still no joy.

Looks like it will have to go back in again. not having much luck. Been in for new wheels under warranty, turned up and wheels damaged so had to go back a week later. Then gearbox problems and now they play with it the multichangers not working. Problem is it is a 25 mile round trip so its a gallon of petrol every time ( urban stop go driving ) so this will be 100 miles this year just in faults. Other thing is they give me a bottom spec honda Jazz with bright yellow stickers all over it. Do Ihave a right to demand something better as I really do not want to drive round in cars like this after paying out for an S2000 and it being no fault of my own. I do have one dealer a bit closer but when the sales staff make comments like " Nice car the S2000, we don't see many here but we do like to do dohnuts and slides in them" so not really going to take my car there and leave it with them.

I can see it now. Take it in to dealer, they have a look, say they will send it off and come back and get it fitted when it returns....... another bloody 25 miles!!!!!!
