My car goes in on Monday for it's tappets checking!
Took the car in yesterday, to see about the kangaroo-ing, and they said that was normal, but they rang Honda anyway, and in the last couple of days they have had instances of damp getting into the Lambda sensors, so they checked them. On the way home the emissions light came on, so I took it back. The ECU had picked up another misfire on number 4 (as it had a couple of weeks ago) so another call to Honda, and she has to go in the have her tappets checked. The dealers even said to me we want it for a whole day cos we haven't done on of these before! ho my god!!!!
I will keep you informed.

Pardon my ignorance here but does the car actually have tappits? I thought they were a throw back to the pushrods of old non OHC engines, happy to be told otherwise though

You might be thinking of rockers - although Honda use these on OHC engines as part of the VTEC cleverness.
I'm not certain whether the S2000 engine uses hydraulic tappets - avoiding 'pumping up' of the tappets at 9000 rpm would be difficult.
Hope this is not too boring

The valve clearances are adjusted, just like they use to be done in the old days, slacken off the lock nut, adjust clearance with a screwdriver while checking clearance with a set of feeler gauges.
My car doesn't fall into the Spark plug recall, as it's only 2 months old, covered 3.5K
P.S. I know somewhere on here is a Honda Mechanic, anyone know why the valve lift on the primary and secondary rocker arms are different? is it a different rocker ratio? sorry if it's a bit boring, just interested.

Kangaroo Petrol
My S2 loves to kangaroo if I'm stupid enough to put regular 4 star in her. This last happened in Swansea high street in rush hour going to see my mother in law with my wife driving her for the first time. She hasn't driven her again. Still if your S2 tries shooting up the road it's likely to be a duff batch of petrol from Safeway, get down Waitrose and get some expensive stuff.
