This is not 100% true mate, the J's Racing Single 60 RS is the perfect exhaust for an S2000. It honestly has no drone, is quiet at low revs and sound sabsolutely mental (and loud) when on VTEC. Being Ti it only weighed a few kilos aswell.

I have heard many others (invidia, HKS, Buddy Club etc..) and they all fit in with what you describe. The J's 60 RS does not.

If anyone doesnt believe this i would happily take them out in it if local!!
I agree too,

Your exhaust was amazingly good, I loved following you back to the motorway! Well right up to the point where I got stuck at the bleeding roundabout, haha!

I would say getting 2 magnaflow mufflers and replacing your stock mufflers would be the way to go.

You keep stock performance, increase noise, reduce massive weight, AND keep your emissions equpiment. Total should cost you 200 bucks from fit to finish. And if you need a little bit of that extra rasp, you can de-resonate if you wish.

Also keep in mind that intake and exhaust noise are completely different. After that you can remove the lid from your airbox and increase some noise, granted, you will lose a bit of power in the top end.

Even the garage R must be droney being a dual. Only single exhausts sound 'clean' on S2000's from my experience. You only get performance gain (if any) from a singl aswell...

Drone is only something I hear when i'm doing light throttle in the higher gears at between 50 and 65 .... that doesn't happen a lot and is not what i'd call intrusive at worst

Take your airbox lid off first...if you like that, then purchase an intake. If you still want louder...then get an exhaust with removable silencers. If you still want more, then get the decat.

I have 70mm Greddy Ti-C (silencers removed), Invidia 70mm TP, and a Vortech Supercharger I got pulled over Saturday night for speeding and they got me for the noise too....I was at 101.8db hehehe

Thanks for all the comments, but I have taken by airbox lid off - as mentioned in OP!

Looking at an aem v2 or an injen. Been quote 60-80 quid fitting for either. About right?

If your buying an intake I'd go K&N no worries about hydrolock, sounds great and you can fit it yourself it's very easy.

Keep an eye on the classifieds and eBay for the right exhaust maybe...
